Green Men and Women

Green men are a part of English history, popping up in carvings

on furniture, ancient churches and buildings, and in tapestry work. But

have you ever wondered about their significance? This course will

introduce you to the folklore behind green men and explore their

significance - a great course for the evening before May Day! The Green

Man is ever present as 'Jack in the Green' in May Day celebrations and

stories.  Why not make your own mixed media Green Man or woman and

hang it inside your door as a 'House Guardian'?

Monday 30th April 2012
